So couple pics to follow up after taking the motor back off, you can see the amount of gunk in there. Also the grommet didn’t make it through the first round, I have another that I’ll trim down to see if that works better. Thoughts?

Replacing the grommet worked for me as well. I have been chasing this noise for several months. Nice $2.80 fix. Much appreciated info!

Well...I spoke too soon. The noise completely disappeared for 2 days but is back. I didn't add the penny, I will order another grommet and try that.

Hey Guys,

Just bought a new 2022 Yamaha Lithium cart and it has the same noise - accelerating or decelerating on a level road its quiet however if you coast down any grade it sounds like a rod knock in the tranny which is totally un-acceptable.

The Lithium models are supposed to be totally re-designed, I can't believe Yamaha would release a product in this condition.

I had this problem with an 07, but it was due to braking. I swapped out the transaxel fluid and the issues went away.
