1995 Medalist cowl rivets
I finally got the front cowl for my medalist and it's my understanding that it gets riveted on. I just want to make sure I get the right rivets. As far as I can tell, the part number is: 15058-G6. Just looking for someone to confirm that for me before I buy them.
Thanks |

Re: 1995 Medalist cowl rivets
It looks like it but it doesn't show the slots that make this an expanding rivet. Everybody using the same wrong picture not slotted - probably because they are all selling the same product. So ???

NOT SURE but, i feel those are correct for bottom and 14601-G01 is for the rest maybe. Don't take this as correct lol

Re: 1995 Medalist cowl rivets
The one I used had a smaller flange on the and slits in the side, they're called tri-grip. I ordered 2 sets of the TXT rivet sets and glad I did, It was a little confusing figuring out where all the other rivets went in the rear section. When I took mine apart I removed all the plastic pieces that were held on by rivets too. I don't know for certain but I'm pretty sure the Medalist uses different size rivets to hold everything together under the seat and there's certainly more rivets needed than the plastic body of the TXT

I put one of the regular style without the slits in first not paying attention and it fell right back out.

These are the rivets I was looking at (I know it's out of stock). It comes in a 10 pack and there are 10 holes in the cowl. I'm assuming these are the right ones, but maybe someone that has actually done this before can chime in. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone and their families. |

Re: 1995 Medalist cowl rivets
Well, I fixed, painted and installed the cowl piece today. Instead of using rivets, I used stainless steel 8-32 button head screws and nylon locking nuts. I didn't want to get the wrong rivets and I can remove it if necessary without drilling out rivets.
