Default Noisy motor or noisy clutch?

I had my motor rebuilt by j&m in georgia. Finally put in and it is as noisy as before. My clutch is o.g. And does have discoloring. I put a new spring in it a while back for more torque. It sounds like a exhaust leak kinda. It is no where as quiet as any of my buddys carts. If it is the clutch should i go stock with the stock motor or upgrade to something else?

Thanks,
matt

.004 at TDC cold.
Can you pinpoint more where the noise is or what it sounds like?
Knock, rattle, grinding/rubbing?

Could this noise possibly be in the driven clutch? Seein as it was there before and still there now... Maybe remove the belt and give it a spin n see what happens.. Just shootin in the dark til' I hear more symptoms!!

Maybe this can help or not but mine had a chingling sound that was only there when the cart was not under a load. Give it a bit more gas or start up a hill and it would go away. Drove me crazy. I thought the clutch was bad. Turns out it was a very simple fix. The throttle linkage was loose and would rattle when the governor wasn't pushing or pulling it. Popped off one end turned in the plastic connector and snapped it back on. Been quite ever since.

How can you tell if the clutch is bad? Either clutch? I will try the valve adjustment. The noise sounds like a noisy exhaust. The front clutch has some discoloration on it?
Thanks for the responses i want to figure this out because it sounds like poop!
