Default Changing over to synthetic oil

I'm wanting to change over to synthetic oil, on my 2006 TXT.

Do I need to flush the system, or just drain and add the synthetic oil?

Also, would it be smart to use synthetic oil in the rear end?

Thanks,
Phillip

Made the change in my 350 and have had no problems. Changed the oil in the rear also, so now they both use the same oil.

Really not necessary to flush, just change it the first time a bit sooner than normal and your good to go.

I haven't noticed a difference on way or the other, but feel better with a high grade oil at work.

Shouldn't the rear end use a thicker oil than the engine?

Mine calls for 30w in both. This is the synthetic I went with in my 4-stroke, it came highly recommended by a golf kart mechanic friend....

Thanks Jake. Amsoil sounds to be a good choice. It looks to be about 3 quarts to do both engine and rear end. Probably change it this week, one day after work.

I use royal purple in my carts. I use 75-90 in the rear and 30wt in the engine. I have nvr had an issue with using 75/90 in the rear. It has made a few of them quiet, that had rattling noises in them.
