Using different valves
I have a 295 head with old style valve keepers built in the spring retainer. My question is can I use the newer collet style valves in their place. I mic'ed the two and they are identical in spec's besides the way that they are held in place. Didn't know if anyone had tried it but was curious to know since I had some newer style valves I could install without ordering some new old style valves. Thanks guys.....

Re: Using different valves
I have done that exact swap on about 3 different valve jobs > It is the same set up other than the way the keeper fits the valve. I got the old style on the two intake valves and the new style on the exhaust. I messed up and ordered the wrong valves one time (6) Had radical golf send me some of the old style keeper and I havent had any problems.

Re: Using different valves
Thanks for the info.... I did the same thing. I need two old style intake valves but I already had two new style. I used a mic on all of it and it seemed to match up so I gave it a shot. It works great and I didnt have to buy two more valves.
Thanks |
