Re: hei coil
no markings whatsoever. a cheap autozone one from i think a mid 70s chevy i know this has been used alot from the searchs, just references as to which is pos. hopefully someone will know the answer. if not i am going with right pos. don't think you can blow a coil and the module is warranted.

Re: hei coil
How do you know which side is right or left or even top or bottom.
Hot water is on the left cold on right. I just bought a voltmeter for my cart and on the back the + is on the right - on left. Go figure. .45ACP because shooting twice is silly. |

Re: hei coil
i know there is an answer out there somewhere. here are two diagrams from the slant six forum. also when i ohm out the coil,on the top, side to side 1.1 ohms. on the bottom,1.o. on the right, top to bottom, .6 ohms. on the left, top to bottom, .5 ohms. this is all with the plug wire at the top.
also, the only markings on this are on the bottom. will try to take a pic, but it is two paralell (sp) horiz. bars, each with two small bars. the upper going up and the lower down. i am going to figure this out, one way or the other! as you can see, one is wired side to side, the other up and down. Re: hei coil
I did the HEI upgrade on my 90 Marathon, works great (had to swap the red and blue wires), I bought a coil on Ebay for $20 and it was marked, may save you some trouble. When in doubt go the Democrat way..throw money at it.
