Default wiring an 77 engine to 87 setup

I got an 77 2stroke cheap and need help wiring to my 87 ezgo. Original engine is done for. Any help is greatly needed to keep this running. The 77 has internal st/generator compared to external. Or is this not possible?

I guess that only someone who has done that can tell you with any degree of certainty if it can be done. Of course another difference is that the 77 will be points as opposed to electronic but I guess that is not a problem. Another issue for you will be a lack of availability of parts for the pre 82 engine. It would be better if you could pick up a 2PG engine from the 80's but I understand that needs must.
I think that I have a 1976 manual somewhere at home so if you have a specific question ask away and I will see if I can dig it up.
Good luck
Dave

Thanks alot. I will take a good look at everything and get back to u with the questions. I know one issue is the "ignitor box" and the wires from that. I will get back hopefully today.

Alright first question would be whether or not i have to use the 77 forward reverse switch? Next is the 87 "A" wire came from st/gen but 77 does not have "A" wire. Another is about the ignitor box and the wires going to and from that. Any help is greatly appreciated. I know i will have more later.
