Do you need a puller to split the case on a G1 engine

Check out my thread in my sig area. I made a puller using a standard puller tool and welded the needed 7mm bolts for the case to the standard bolts that came with the puller. It worked great.
Also, you can put the engine case in the grill at about 400 deg for like 5 or 10 min and likely pull apart without the tool. The alum engine case will expand from the heat much quicker than the steel crank. This might make the cases just slip apart with a little tap of a wood dowel rod. Wear heavy leather gloves. |
