G1 is Home! Pics!
Well, made the hour and a half trip back from Wheaton with the kids new toy!! Plastics are in good shape, has 4 new tires but needs bumpers and some new seats! PO said it is a fuel problem on why it will not run. He took the fuel pump off and that is as far as he got. I took a pic of the fuel filter and, I'm thinking it may be mounted backwards? Just looking to get this pig running for now then cosmetics.. Engine has great spark and seems to have plenty of compression. Just need to narrow down the fuel problem. I thought the fuel pump was mounted to the side of the tank as on my old G9. Anyone have any input would be great! Also tried to locate serial number behind the rear wheel on the frame and nothing is there. PO stated that he thinks its an '86. Anywhere else the location may be??Thanks in advance!

I like it! Looks like a great cart to restore/modify. Good luck and keep us posted as you progress. Check the top of the rear frame rail (the one that runs from left to right over the rear axle) for the SN.

Here's a photo of the frame rail cross member I'm referring to. Sorry for the blurry pic, but it will show you where the SN is on my '79 G1.

Looks good Tonka. Follow the oil injector hose, it should land where the pump goes.
Also, if the pump has been out for a whil and left dry, poor a little of the 2 smoker oil into all the ports to give it a little prime and help not mess up the diaphram. |

Re: G1 is Home! Pics!
If the fuel pump is bad you can also use a small engine/lawn tractor pump like this one....I did and it worked great. Cost me $15 at the John Deere dealer.
