swapping cylinder head
I've got a 350cc block that needs cyl. head repairs. I have a good 295cc head complete with valves, ready to go. Will the 295cc head work on the 350cc block without changing anything from the 295cc setup??? Thanks for any help

Re: swapping cylinder head
Yes a 295 head will go right on a 350 but it does raise the compression quite a bit and from what I have read will give around an extra 5hp over the stock 350.

Re: swapping cylinder head
This is exactly the answer I was lookin for. Thanks. One more thing... Is there anything else to change with this upgrade or can I just bolt the head on and go?? I've never tried this before so any help is greatly appreciated. Also do I need to use the 350 carb or the 295??

Re: swapping cylinder head
I realize if you have a 350 carb obviously that is the one you would want to use.
The reason I am really asking though is I just purchased a 350 short block and a 295 that tossed a rod that I am going to combine for my cart to replace the 295 that is in there. The one issue that I have right now is I have the carbs off of both 295's but I dont have the carb that came with the 350 so I will need to convert one of the 295's which I thought could be done with a jet change from what I have read. Is this not correct? Not trying to be a smart a$$ about any of this just trying to figure out what I need to do for my build when I get to it in a couple months. |

Re: swapping cylinder head
Your not a smart a$$ . From what I have gathered from this web site is the carbs are the same except for the jet size.
