Default Need help with DCS solenoid

Just purchased 97 Ezgo DCS .Has test batteries in 37.5---NO solenoid click, been looking at wiring diagrams and test procedures,I have only 8 volts on small terminal blue wire, plus only 8 volts on other small terminal. I am thinking it is the controller? I have checked all microswitches,ITS,wiring,...any help will be appreciated

test solenoid
Quote:
Disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery. remove all wires, restorer , and diode from solenoid
test 1
Connect an volt meter, set on continuity, place on the two large terminal studs. The meter should indicate no continuity, Replace the solenoid if continuity is present.
test 2
Using jumper wires attach from main positive and main negative of battery pack to the two small solenoid studs, polarity is not important. You should hear a click as the solenoid engages, and the meter should indicate continuity on the two large terminals. Replace the solenoid if continuity is not present.
if solenoid clicks rapidly solenoid is bad

controller by-pass
Quote:
You can bypass the controller for testing only.*

Jack the rear tires off the ground and put the cart on jack stands. f/r in forward
Jump B- and M- at the controller to bypass the controller.*Make the final connection away from the controller(connect 2 jumper wires to controller and touch them together )*raise the rear tires off the ground* before jumping the controller, it's going to run at wide open throttle. If it runs with the jumper I'd say the controller is bad.Don't let the cart run at full speed with the rear tires off the ground..

Before you by-pass the controller, how about finding out why you aren't getting FULL pack voltage on the small (coil) terminals.

Hit the wrong key and posted it before I was finished typing.

What a DCS controller does to activated the solenoid is connect B- to the blue wire going to one of the small terminals on the solenoid. B+ is supplied externally via the White battery charging wire, the reed switch, the Run/Tow switch, the "Run" switch on the F/R switch assemble and the keyswitch. One or more of those switches or the wires that connect them in series, has excessive resistance, or you would have full pack voltage on the small terminal with three wires on it.

Use the attached schematic with B+ voltage path to the solenoid coil highlighted in red to trace the wires back to the voltage source.

Does the blue wire on small solenoid terminal suppose to be negative?
