Nothing wrong with the trailer you describe. Be careful towing a cart backward, seat etc. may blow up. Use it a while and see how mesh holds up. I don't think you need lumber underneath. If you have a problem in the future bolt plywood to the floor.

Also when towing cart backwards on trailer you need to pull the windshield off (if you have one) while towing or you may not have a windshield when you reach your destination. I might have made that mistake once lol.

Remove the windshield and the front seat bottom when pulling a cart backwards. Since it does have a rear seat kit, you could leave the front seat bottom on and use a bungee cord to lock the hip restraint to the rear seat kit so it won't blow out. I haul 2 carts at a time on my 16' trailer so I have to load the front one backwards.

Thank you for all the replies. I use my golf cart at a seasonal campground and when the campground closes for the season I want to bring my cart home and put it in my garage. I could borrow a trailer to bring it home but then next spring I would have to borrow a trailer again to take it back to the campground. It would be nice if I had my own trailer. My wife says why buy one if I can borrow one.

That's one of the issues with a little used trailer. You have to have somewhere to store it when it's not in use.

This is a new trailer that I'm looking at. I can store it in my backyard but I need to be able to move it by hand when I mow. Another problem is that my wife says why buy one if I can borrow one. It can be a pain trying to find one to borrow.

Just tell the wife it will come in handy more than she realizes. Buying furniture, runs to Home Depot, etc.

Yes. And not to mention paying loads for friends and neighbors! That is why I mentioned getting a slightly bigger and better payload than just to haul a golf cart. Trailer might even pay for itself.

Thats because your wife doesn't understand the rule.... If you need to borrow something more then twice you need to buy your own

Toolmaker Bob I bought one from them the same size, It's gvwr was 2000# made by Carryon. I bolted a sheet of 1/2in. plywood to the frame and screwed a old sheet of 3/4 to it. I paid $599 on sale and a couple months later just before winter it was $499. the only thing I see "wrong" with it is the tailgate/ramp don't come off and the mesh on the ramp welds are starting to break on the edges. The plywood not only added weight it made it rigid.
