92' elect marathon headlights and tail lights 36v or 12 volt
doing total rewire and didn't check to see how they were wired before i stripped them all out . I couldn't have traced them anyways do to a rat nests of wires going everywhere.
They are factory headlights by parts manual for ( GX-444freedom) but it dose not specify the volts they do show the hour meter at 12v even though i do not see a voltage reducer anywhere in the Manual . and haven't found wiring diagram with headlights yet http://www.bennettgolfcars.ca/pdf_fi...as%20parts.pdf Whats the Norm' ... i do see 36v after market headlights so ........ anyway i can tell with a multi meter somehow , no telling what he really had in there ? |

Re: 92' elect marathon headlights and tail lights 36v or 12 volt
They are 12 volts. I’ve had many of those and they all have been. You can either connect them to two of your 6v batteries or use a voltage reducer to reduce your pack voltage to 12v. The reducer is preferred because it doesn’t cause uneven discharge on your batteries.

Re: 92' elect marathon headlights and tail lights 36v or 12 volt
Thanks Luke , Wish i would have waited...... but just so you know they do work on 36 volts .......... for about a mili-second
looks like there 45.30 each for the upgraded halogens So after that lesson learned i new the tails were 12v ( ya I'm a quick study ) Luckily it had some aux lights down below and figured they were 12v for sure, so good for now |

Re: 92' elect marathon headlights and tail lights 36v or 12 volt
Oops! I made the same mistake on a TXT once after replacing the batteries. Blew the headlights also. They now sell some self stick LED strips that can go under the old headlights and work on 12v. They are quite bright and very cheap, if you need something “in the meantime.”
