No slow speed
How do I check if the resistor is working properly? I took the buss bar off the top of the coils and depressed the accelerator and I can hear each coil click one by one but when on and on forward or reverse you get wide open only.

Re: No slow speed
Firstly do you mean no slow speed as in it just jumps and takes off when you press pedal?

Re: No slow speed
Are you saying with the cart on jacks you hear each solenoid click but the cart wheels do not move until the last one clicks?
Is this a sudden problem, or has it become gradually worse? Hard to believe all solenoids went bad at once. Was somebody working on the cart? |

Re: No slow speed
When I press the accelerator it is instant full power. I took took the buss bar off the top of the solenoid s where it would not put power to the motor and I could hear all 5 solenoids click one at a time as I pressed the pedal. Yes it was sudden and no there was no one working on it. My 14 year old was riding it and very possible that he ran it through water

Re: No slow speed
Check the solenoids on the ends. One to the drivers side provides continuity to the motor itself, & should be the first pedal "click". The one on the passenger side end should be the "high" speed & as such should be the last pedal click. I've seen that one on the passenger end weld shut & stay engaged all the time. That means as soon as the driver side solenoid connects (first "click") full power, by-passing all the resistors, is immediately applied.
http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...-diagrams.html I think this may be what you've got. |

Re: No slow speed
If the V-Glide wiring has been modified, make sure the high pot and low pot were not reversed.
If they are, the wiper would be at high speed as soon as the pedal is pushed then will get slower as you push it to the floor. This happened on my MCOR once. It'll jump like a rabbit! |

Re: No slow speed
Yeah either way for that cart with 5 solenoids when it jumps violently at slight pedal push it’s almost always a solenoid issue. That’s why I like early carts. Not much to fix when cart stops running
