Default 36vt TXT PDS power / voltage drop issue. Help needed.

Help, can you point me in the direction to diagnosis my issue.

2008 PDS 36vt cart. All 6 batteries are good. ( less than 2 years old and all test out at 6.6 ish volts...)

I have I digital volt meter on the dash. The cart fully charges up and then static at 38/39 volts... all good. I then drive her a little while (1/4 mile at slow speeds) the volt meter shows 34-36 under the load while driving. All good.

Then all of a sudden the voltage drops to 28ish and speed drops to very slow.

I bring her back, park her and/or charge her and ships works fine again until same thing.

The motor is not getting hot... the cables all are clean and sign of wear.

She does have 6" lift and 23" tires... but has been this way for a year... I drive her slow...

Controller? Motor? Or. ?

Thanks, Dan

How are you testing the batteries individually? With a load tester or checking voltage under load?

I am just using a volt meter. On each battery... static.

If you can, use some alligator clips hooked to your meter leads and hook it to each battery and do take-off from a dead stop up a hill if possible. Repeat for All batts. If your meter has a min/max function, use it because it’s hard to watch the meter and drive, etc.
If no min/max, watch closely for the lowest the voltage drops to. Post up the results

I am going to try testing each battery with a battery load tester tomorrow. I can then also try the road driving load test also...

It sounds like a battery or possibly part your high amp circuit is failing under load. If your load test of the batteries does not show any faults, then a review of the high amp circuit is suggested.

Just guessing here, but get rid of the crappy stock solenoid?

Ok, good news... you guys are awesome on this site..

I put a load test on all the batteries individually and bang.. one bad one load test with 100amp tester and she dropped to 3 volts...

So even better news, still under 100% warranty.. so going to town for a replacement.

Thank you, lets hope this is the only issue.

My personal experience (in 2 cases with a failed battery) is that the cart stops and will not move at all. Perhaps your battery did not fail as bad as mine!

Let us know how your cart performs once you replace the battery ... so we can also learn from your experience.
