36v to 48v plug adapter
Going to move from the 36v to 48v. Already have the alltrax controller and solenoid. Was at a auction and bought the charger with a different plug. So I need some schooling for the conversion. Pics are of 48v charger. And 36v plug on cart.
1) Do they sell adapters For the charger? 2) If I change plug wouldn't it be better to change the female on the cart so someone wouldn't plug a 36v charger into it? 3) lots of wires on the 48v female pic that i found. Anyone know why? 4) plug on cart has 2 wires. plug on charger seems to be 3 wires? see pics |

This gets my vote Not sure the wiring but I think: A wire to tell the cart not to go because the charger is plugged in & A wire to tell the charger it’s plugged into a cart & turn it on |

Re: 36v to 48v plug adapter
That is an RXV charger socket. The grey "wire" is actually a small 2 conductor cable that connects the temperature probe to the battery. That block with the lug goes onto the positive battery pack terminal. It senses battery temperature for a circuit board that is imbedded into epoxy. The small blue wire is what tells the controller that the charger is plugged into the charge port. The larger red and black wires are the charger port outputs that connect to 48V battery pack + and -. I hope this helps.

Re: 36v to 48v plug adapter
I ordered the 48v DPI charger with the power wise D shaped plug and and just labeled it 48v so no one would mistake it for 36v. I would change the plug on the charger to match the cart and label it 48v.

Re: 36v to 48v plug adapter
Agreed, and DPI sells the handles cheap. Far, far cheaper than the Ezgo 48v port! Besides, if someone plugged a 36v charger into your 48v cart, nothing would happen except it wouldn't charge your cart. Be sure to change the pins too, the "Rxv style" pins are a lot smaller.
