Wrecked TXT Front
My 13yr old son gifted us with this event Christmas night. Based on my uneducated exam it appears to be a bent front axle and broken tire rod. The steering system "seems" to be in tact.
Does anyone out there see a bigger issue? Is this fixable with $300 and a lot of free 13yr old child labor? If memory serves me we had a 6in lift when we bought the cart. Will that be a factor for which Axle I can buy? I'm afraid a local shop is going to be $ ridiculous. All help and insight is appreciated. Thanks in advance. |

Re: Wrecked TXT Front
Well I'm new to all this Buggies thing. With that being said I'm in the process of putting a Jake's Long Travel on my 2015 EZGO TXT48. Unless someone out here can tell me different I don't think I will need anything off this front axle. I don't know what part of Mississippi you are in but I'm between Tuscaloosa and Birmingham Alabama. If it turns out I don't need anything off this you are welcome to it.

You might need the rack and pinion but I am not sure. Never studied the long travel kits for EZGO carts.
From the kits I have seen you will need the spindles and steering gear. But I could be wrong. |

Re: Wrecked TXT Front
Allisni1, that looks like a stock non lifted axle for a 2001 and up txt which you can probably get for almost free at a cart shop. However depends on what the cart is. Found out the other day Ezgo in their infinite wisdom started putting different width axles on some of their carts. Which model do you have?
You might also want to check the steering column. If I had to guess he hit it when the cart abruptly stopped. |

Re: Wrecked TXT Front
Cart is a Standard TXT. Year is 2006. I don't see any damage to the spindles or steering column at this point. I think I will shop around for an axle and tire rod. I guess the worst thing that could happen is I have to bring the new parts to the shop to finish the job.
I do appreciate all the help!!! |

Re: Wrecked TXT Front
A local shop that does drop axle lifts probably has one laying around.
