Newbie RXV Owner with a few questions
Hi All ! Newbie owner here. We just took delivery of a refurbished / updated 2015 RXV Freedom Elec cart 2 days ago ! Roughly 95% of our small town is "cart friendly" and does not require being street legal. We wanted a neighborhood cruiser and so far are quite pleased.
I just found this awesome forum a few days ago and have a few questions if I may. I searched the forum for beach riding and all I got was a zillion threads concerning laws, rules, and regulations. We live in north Florida very near the beaches, so beach riding would be a plus. 1. Can you ride this cart on the beach in loose sand? I have a concern that riding in loose sand would overload the electric motor causing problems. I fully understand washing off the salt on the cart after each use. If it is ok to ride in the sand is there any special cautions you could suggest? 2. I have a 5x10 utility trailer with a drive on ramp. We will want to go to nearby communities for a nice ride where legal. When trailering on side roads at say, 55 mph how do I tie down and secure the cart? When trailering at expressway speeds 70-80 mph how do I secure the cart? It has a new, fiberglass, top cover that goes all the way over the end of the cart and a new, plastic windshield that folds down in half. Thank you all in advance for any help, thoughts, and suggestions you may have for new, newbie !!! Whizzn |

Re: Newbie RXV Owner with a few questions
The Rxv performs very well in loose sand, go for it. I would run a strap around the front and rear suspension. And I would consider removing the windshield for the freeway traveling. Windshield might break, and it is a huge "sail" killing your gas mileage.

Re: Newbie RXV Owner with a few questions
Thank you Cgtech for the good suggestions. Would you do anything to or with the fiberglass top? Do you think the wind at highway speeds would lift it to the point of breaking ?
Once Again Thanks !!! Whizzn |

Re: Newbie RXV Owner with a few questions
related to trailer... I always pull the cart up to the front and use a large ratchet strap to hold the cart front wheels firmly to the trailer angle iron. I place the strap around the inside of the cart so it goes behind the gas/brake. I fold the windshield down and bungee it in place. Never had a problem with the top. Tight and secure.
Obviously (since I don't know) depending on what your trailer can hold and car can pull depends on best placement of the cart on your trailer and what you should be pulling. |

Re: Newbie RXV Owner with a few questions
I agree with Doug. I trailer my cart almost daily to the course 10 miles away. I just strap it down. just make sure you give yourself extra stopping time since most small trailers do not have brakes.
