Default Best way to fix rotted wooden seat backing

Looking for some help from anyone’s dealt with their wooden seat bottom being rotted out. I’m thinking I can just trace the outline of it and cut 1/2” plywood with jig saw to get pretty close then just transfer foam and recover on the new board. Or is it just better to buy a whole new seat?

That's what I have done to my Medalist, put a new seat cover on it at the same time. I think the factory plywood is 5/8" which is not hard to find if you have a real lumber yard near you.

I'm pretty sure my '96 txt still has the original factory plywood seat and it just so happens to have been from the section of the 4x8 sheet that had the 'stamp' on it (see attachment). 19/32" 40/20 rated sheathing which can be found anywhere: https://www.homedepot.com/p/19-32-in...5482/100004472

1/2", 5/8" or 3/4" will work fine. Use good plywood, not OSB.

Make the straight cuts with a skilsaw then the curves with a jigsaw.

Nice good to know, mine is pretty rotted and falling apart so not sure how good of dimensions I’ll be able to get off of it. Does anyone happen to have the dimensions or is there just a standard size?
