Smile Ezgo burning smell

We have an 1991 ezgo marathon. It was working ok the other day and the. Started a smoking smell and quit working. The resistor was very hot so I figured I should replace it. The resistor is still getting extremely hot and the cart is not working. The solenoid is getting full battery from the B negative to battery side large post. The other large post b negative to controller side is zero. What is wrong and how do I troubleshoot this issue? Is it micro switch related or is the controller bad which was just rebuilt. Thanks for your help

The resistor getting hot indicates the solenoid's contacts are not closing.

Could be one of the three switches that the voltage needed to energize solenoid isn't working or the solenoid is bad.

Here's a schematic with the voltage path to the solenoid's coil highlighted.

So we though we found which switch it was and actually replaced all three switches. Cart still won’t go and has a brand new solenoid as well. The resistor is super hot still. Any other ideas?

Does the solenoid click when the pedal is pushed?

What is the voltage on each of the solenoid's small terminals when pedal is pushed?

Post pictures of the solenoid and controller showing the wiring.
