Ignition wiring
Hi everyone, I’ve been reading posts for weeks and can’t find the same problem, even though there are many similar. I stripped down an old EXGO (txt I think) to paint and clean it up. Ignition wires fell off the ignition before I could take a photo. I can’t figure out the position of the black ground from the controller solenoid thingy, or duhickie, and where it connects to the ignition. All serial numbers are gone or illegible so I don’t know what year it is so I"m having trouble finding a matching wiring diagram :(
This is what I think I know. 3 switch, 4 terminal ignition (off, on, lights on) and a F-N-R switch not a lever. I think if it has the switch its a PDS. Thank you in advance. Not sure which photos to post but here it goes. |

Re: Ignition wiring
Here is a photo of the ignition stuff after a couple wires came off but a few still connected. Looks like the blue and green were reversed, according to other similar wiring diagrams and posts. It was running before I disassembled it, regardless of the hokey wiring.

Re: Ignition wiring
I was looking at ruredy's wiring diagram for a "Solid State Speed Control" and I think I have the F-N-R Double Micro Switch thing with push button on my dash. Attached is a photo of my controller set up. Anyone know what year or diagram I should be using?
I should probably adding these photos to my original email and not adding a post, don't know. Obviously I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed... |

Re: Ignition wiring
Figured out my problem. The wire I had marked "Ignition Ground "B" was actually the ignition possitive, not negative. That's it!

Re: Ignition wiring
There is a sticky on here how to identify what drive system your cart has. Knowing that can also help narrow down year of cart and what wire diagrams to use.

Re: Ignition wiring
Thank you Cobra, 1. I'm still having trouble with identifying stickys. some are pics, some seem to be links that don't work. I'm confused, but that's a simple event to occur.

Can you please repost the larger pictures from your the 1st and 2nd post? I have problem identifying where I should plug in the wires, and your pictures look like my golfcart. I really appreciate if you could repost larger pictures so I can see in details. Thanks in advance! |
