Default Alltrax AXE vs New CURTIS 1205M on TXT 36V

I have had an Alltrax AXE 4844 in my TXT for 13-14 years. I never re-programmed it, I just took it out of the box when it was new and bolted it in. Does anyone know what the OEM settings were for output and throttle response? If 100%,... then cool. But if I can get more, or a LOT more from this I'd like to know. I also have a new in the box CURTIS 1205M that I can use too. At max the AXE puts out 400 amps for 30 second, then 350 for 1 minute, then 300 continuously... something like that. The CURTIS 1205M puts out 500 amps. What would y'all do?

The specs for the AXE-500 is 2 minutes @ 500A, 5 minutes @350A and 1 hour @ 250A.
The specs for the 1205-5603 is 1 minute @ 500A, 5 minutes @350A and 1 hour @ 200A.

In other words the Curtis-500A only passes more amps for 1 minute more than the Alltrax-500A and after 6 minutes or so, it passes 20% less.

Do you have the needed cable to connect the AXE to a compatible computer? If so, you can see what the setting are. If you don't have the cable and computer, it is a moot point since you cannot reprogram it.

----------------

The thing to remember is a controller passes amps to the motor rather than pushing them. How many amps the motor draws is determined by the motor's RPM, the higher the RPM, the fewer amps the motor is capable of drawing, so the difference between a 400A and a 500A controller only exists when the motor's RPMs is below the point at which 400A is the max amps the motor is capable of drawing.

Disregard the above post.
I goofed and was looking at an AXE 500 rather than an AXE-400.

Be back in a moment with the corrected comments.

I dont know if I do have the USB to Serial Port cable, JB, I'll check. I should be able to find one. The specs are close between the 2 controllers. I'll just keep the 1205 as a spare, as long as I can get/set the throttle and accel settings on the AXE 4844 to 100%. Does anyone know what the Alltrax AXE 4844 OEM stock settings were?

Alltrax set it for max throughput, but the vendors may have tweaked it some if they knew how the cart it was going in, was set up.

The LED is supposed to turn to yellow when the throttle goes to 100%.

The ITS voltage between the black and white wires should be 10V when solenoid first clicks and 6V when pedal is on floor.

-----------

If you can get it connected to a laptop, record a data log (continuous sampling rate) while doing to max effort accelerations from a standstill. That will show you how many amps your motor can draw.

I was running a DCX-500A in my PDS cart and wanted to upgrade to a XCT, but the 500A version wasn't out yet and no ETA date, so I did some accelerations from a standstill when stopped on steep incline to get the worst case amp draw and found out my D&D motor couldn't draw more than the 460A peak of the XCT-400A when powered from a 42V battery pack, so I was running a XCT48400-PDS several months before the 500A unit was finally available.
