Default New D&D Motor install HELP

Just installed a new D&D motor (170-501-0001) in my 05 Ezgo txt PDS 36v cart.
Took it for a slow test ride and everything seemed ok. When I tried to accelerate, the power would cut off completely. After coming to a complete stop I was able to move again only at slow speed. Checked batteries, full charge. The new motor I installed had a different speed sensor than the original. After talking to the tech at D&D, I was told to just splice the new sensor into the wire to the controller. I also have the HILL chip installed. Other than that, no other changes.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Put the cart in diagnostic mode and see what beeps you get while driving. Put fnr in N, key on then toggle the fnr from N to R 5 times ending in N. It should beep 1 to 4 times telling you what plug chip is in it. Now drive it and listen for beeps.

Splice the 2 similar colored wires (like red to pink, violet to blue) together and then the 2 odd colors together

Maybe the beeper is disconnected. Does it beep when in Reverse?

Try putting it into diagnostic mode using the procedure described in text at bottom of attached PDS label.

Beeper reconnected now. I get 3 beeps when tested. Code for faullty speed sensor. The speed sensor that came with the new mortor has two screws holding inplace. Has black, red and white wires. My original had black, red and green. I have spliced it black to black, red to red and white to green.

3 beeps when you first put it in diagnostic mode? That would tell you what chip it has in it.

Three beeps when it goes into diagnostic mode means the controller is in Mild Hill performance mode.

The speed sensor fault code is: "beep - short pause - beep - beep - beep" then a longer pause and the beep sequence repeats.

Ok tried it again with the rear wheels off the ground. This time I did get 1 beep+pause+3 beeps. Speed sensor ? I did see that the round magnet appears to only enter the sensor housing about 1/4". Is that enough?

Looking at the chart above speed sensor failure. Wires should be red/red, black/black and the two remaining
