ezgo gas model numbers

I have a 1989 ezgo model number L2389. I just bought another 1989 model number B2289. they have completely different motors. what motor do I have in the recent purchace ??

1989 was a transition year from the 2PG to the newer 3PG and I would bet that is what you are dealing with. I beleive the 2PG has a vertical muffler and I know the 3PG has a horizontal muffler.

you are right 'bout the mufflers; that's very noticeable. so when I order parts, should I order for an '87 ??
