Have you tried a cheap Tach - Do They Work?
Has anyone used one of those cheap tachs like this. Cheap Golf Cart Tachometer For Gas EZGO
Look simple for testing the max and idol rpms. I just want to make sure I'm not getting too close to redline. |

I think I might try the cheap one. $14 with free shipping vs $40 and they have all the same functions. I will let you guys know in a few days how it works out.

I bought this one for the dragster. It's pretty cool. Digital rpm up to 13k with shift light. Shows max rpm also. I offered the guy $20 and he took it.

Re: Have you tried a cheap Tach - Do They Work?
Well I got the Tach in and so far it works great. I did not install it on my EZGO I just wrapped the cord around the spark plug wire and tested idol and max rpms. Had to change the firing setting on the tach to get the correct readings but has worked out nice.
I tried it out on one of my lawnmowers and my motorcycle (it gave me the same readings as the stock tach) that is how i checked the accuracy. The directions are not very clear but it was easy to figure out. It was fun to be able to just carry it around and test all my toys with it. I will let you guys know how long it holds up later. So fare I am happy to go with the cheap one. |
