1997 EZGO TXT with stuck/sticky brake pedal
Not new to the cart world, but this is my first EZGO. Its a 97 TXT that seems to run extremely good. The only issue I have found so far is that the brake pedal is very touchy, but stops in a heartbeat. After you release your foot from the pedal, the pedal will not come back up to original position (pedal will stick). Having to use my foot or hand to get the pedal to release, which is getting old.

Re: 1997 EZGO TXT with stuck/sticky brake pedal
look under cart where pedal connects to frame...there is a 3/4 bolt with a 9/16th nut on the backside...break this nut loose and turn the 3/4 bolt head one full turn...take some pb blaster or w/d 40 and spray around where the bolt goes through and pump brake pedal...retighten 9/16th nut(not real tight) and enjoy your none stuck brake pedal...

On my '96, I found one cable was hanging up. A bit of cleanup solved that.

Re: 1997 EZGO TXT with stuck/sticky brake pedal
Thanks for the help. I will try this when I get home from work tonight. When I looked under the floor, I saw the large spring and adjusters but did not want to mess up anything worse without checking with you guys first.

Sometimes I find the carts that stop the best are metal to metal on the brake pads ..This might bear investigating ?

Re: 1997 EZGO TXT with stuck/sticky brake pedal
A cart that old could have VERY DRY brake cable casings. The steel cable rides in a steel housing just like brakes on a bicycle. If the cable dries out (no lubrication) it will resist returning to home position. They may be fixable with some lube.

Go to the stickies and download the owners, service and parts manuals. They have a whole chapter on brakes.
