Re: Resistor got solid state conversion
I think you need to post exactly what controller you are using as that will determine the resistor values you need. Those kits are stupid expensive, you can buy the resistors (I used 1/2 watt) and some uninsulated 1/4" ring terminals and DIY.

Re: Resistor got solid state conversion
Okay, I’ll post that later when I get home and look. From reading several people were saying it just needs to add up to roughly 5k ohms. Is that not correct. The different size resistors will just determine their speed increase as the pedal pressed correct?

Re: Resistor got solid state conversion
I believe that to be correct, I wired mine as a 3 wire and used the resistor values I posted above as I am using an Alltrax controller.

Re: Resistor got solid state conversion
The total sum of resistor values used should fall between 5,000Ω and 7,500Ω.
The individual resistor size only matters as a fraction of the Total, so each full step will be: Resistor Value/Total Resistance Power dissipation is not an issue but I think the 1 watt resistor (no less than 1/2 watt) is a better form factor to work with and the leads will crimp better. I would also recommend installing the piece of wire between the 2nd and 3rd posts as shown in the previous picture, that will guarantee there it will always be a valid throttle siginal. The VGlide when configured as a three wire MultiStep potentiometer creates additional input steps as the wiper arm bridges two pads so the signal is smoother than the old two wire rheostat mode. Re: Resistor got solid state conversion
Is there any reason why You don't want to use the standard values used by all club Cars that was posted, do You already have resistors?

Re: Resistor got solid state conversion
I will go with the original number posted. I’m more so just trying to understand how this system works and how different value resistors affects the cart

Re: Resistor got solid state conversion
[quote=huntingcart2393;1682729]No, it's not. It's for a late 90s to early 2000s car with a multi-step potentiometer that used a 5k-0 3-wire throttle. If you use an Alltrax controller, you'll have the correct throttle setting available in your Alltrax software.

Re: Resistor got solid state conversion
[quote=TahoeDawgZ71;1682782]If I go the cheap route and buy the resistors myself and use the values previously given in the thread should I use the values for the three wire then? In order to use the alltrax later?
