Stock lithium?
So I’ve pretty much decided I definitely want to convert my 2008 DS IQ to lithium. Right now it’s completely stock but with a speed magnet from revolution. I average around 20mph on flat pavement which is plenty. I’m not looking for a lot more speed, though I assume I’ll get a bit more with increased voltage. But I’ve got good batteries in the 4x12v flavor and I’d like better range.
That said, locally I can have a pack built with BMS li-nmc prismatic cells, with compression rack, harness, etc. for 1200 bucks. Or I’m perfectly capable of building my own leaf pack, BMS, etc also. (I do electrical stuff for a living). So wiring is no problem. Still on the fence with build my own vs buy one from the EV shop... Question is, will the conversion work on my otherwise stock cart? Understood I’d delete OBC and charger and etc. but controller, solenoid, etc would that all still be compatible or would I have to upgrade to an alltrax or AC navitas conversion? |

Re: Stock lithium?
I have a Curtis 1268 controller on mine. Had I been smarter when I started this I probably would have done the Alltrax or Navitas instead (looks like better support and options).
