Default upgrading my 81, 36v club car

so i recently got a 36v club car. it moved around really slow and can tell too many people have worked on it that should not have worked on it. I have seen somewhere you can upgrade the forward/reverse switch to the 84+ models and would like to do this. i have pretty much gutted the cart doing new batteries as they are the end stage of their life (age), also found out the motor has been replaced its purple but cant find a part # on it but is a plum quick motor. I am replacing all the solenoids and most of the wires. I am a person of speed and making just about every go faster with that being said what can I do to this within reason? I know there's not a direct question but any info, knowledge would be helpful as this is my first cart and would like to make it a solid and cool cart.

thanks for any help

Is this a resister cart? How do you "know" it's a PQ motor?

It may be a bandit upgrade then. Do you have a budget set and an ultimate goal? (top speed, lift/stock, full resto, etc).

Dont wanna get too crazy with it as I have a car I'm building right now as well. Really its just a toy wouldnt mind going faster as my buddy has a cart as well and wouldnt mind putting it down on him lol. Will be taking it to the track when I go as well as playing around in our small woods (really smooth) and going up and down the street.

Did you remove all of the wiring? You'll need 48v batteries to start.

Just bigger gage wire from the batteries about if for right now. Why 48v batteries?

I think you need to be more definitive in terms of what you want to achieve and how much you want to spend.

If you've already bought new batteries and budget is tight you may be locked into 36v. Going to 48v gives you more options.

Idk to be honest, I haven't bought any batteries yet so that's still open. How much and what am I looking at to switch to a 48v? Sorry for not being more direct of what I want out of it. It's a toy and know money will have to be spent. I'd say $1-2k budget idk if that's not enough or alot?
