Unhappy Help with solenoid wiring - Medalist

I'm stumped. This week when I added a 350 amp controller, HD F&R, and 2awg cables, I added an SW180 200 amp solenoid with the spade terminals as well. When I wired it up exactly like the old one was wired, there is really no place to put the diode as all 4 spade terminals are taken. So I just kind of wrapped the diode around the terminals with a good tight squeeze with some pliers before attaching the other small activation wires. Well each time I've pressed the gas it sparks from the diode and the diode blows up. Ruined 2 diodes already. I'm just not sure where I'm supposed to put the diode or HOW to properly put one on with all 4 small terminals taken. I ordered a proper diode with spade terminals from scotty but not sure how I'll install it with no available terminals. Am I missing something?
Pictures of the old solenoid vs new solenoid install are attached. You can see the blown up diode on the new one if you zoom in.

Red wires are "+" and black wires are "-"

As for not enough terminals, use some 2-1 adapters if need be.

Yeah I realized I put them on backwards. That's when it sparked when I pressed the pedal. Switched them around and it did nothing at all. I'll get those adapters tomorrow and I'll tackle this and get it figured out. Thanks a lot

When it sparked it probably took out a switch or two.

Took out a switch where? So I bought the adapters and have wired it up like it should have been and nothing. No click or anything.

Does it matter which side I put the diode and small wires on?

No. Both sides tied together. Tabs closest to top are both "+".

One or more of the four switches in the red highlighted line is blown.

Thank you! I'm willing to bet it's the microswitch in the pedal box..or the one coming out of the charger receptacle. All the other microswitches seem to be working as the f&r and key switch seem fine. I changed the pedalbox microswitch out already and I think the replacement came from china. Wouldn't surprise me if that is the ruined one. Thanks for the tips I'll check these.

Just noticed this. There is a connection burnt at the fuse box. Any idea what that goes to? The wire goes inside of the wiring harness so can't really tell.
