what is the average battery life on a 36 volt cart

My 2002 Exides are still running strong. I've only had the cart for two years so I don't know the usage, but the last owner (2/3) told me he drove it until it could barely crawl home before charging, which is NOT GOOD for lead/acid batteries.

Leaving the batteries in the discharged condition is more detrimental to battery life than continually discharging them below the recommended 75/80% level! Charge the batteries immediately after use for best battery life and limit discharge to 75% of full charge.

I do, but I'm just saying that six of my battery's previous 8 year life was less than ideal, yet they still run well enough to have melted two solenoids.

Scottyb, answer your PM, so I can buy a HD solenoid.
