88 EZGO gas Marathon
Hi I just bought this 1988 EZGO Marathon
It has a single cylinder 2 cycle engine. Is this a Robin 244cc? I pulled the motor and cleaned it up. Removed the oil pump which was broken and leaking oil everywhere. Plan to mix gas(1 quart of TCW-3 to 5 gallons sound about right?) Been looking for a wiring diagram, did the internet 2 hour goose chase and ended up back here empty handed. Probably should buy the $50 dollar service manual, which I'll probably never use again. Hope to learn alot about these carts, looks like alot of knowledge available. Plan to take the cart camping. Re: 88 EZGO gas Marathon
Cowboy told you correct on the lube. I like Jet ski HP oil . It made a differance on how my 88 ran. Felt like it gave it an extra HP or 2

Re: 88 EZGO gas Marathon
Got the cart to run and drive. The engine is real jerky (almost impossible to hold a constant rpm with gas pedal) also backfires a lot and this is with no cables hooked upmto the carb. No throttle cable, no choke and whatnis that 3rd cables purpose? It goes down to a levernin front of the driven clutch.

Re: 88 EZGO gas Marathon
Hi
Got my 88 last year and pimped it up a bit during the winter. Have had it out for a couple of weeks now on the course and it seems to be working fine. I have a photo of the wiring diagram and will atttempt to forward it to you. If it works good, if not. will try some other way of getting it to you. Maybe email will work better but, this is better cause then everyone can use it. Bob |
