My 88 marathon cart was backfiring and missing. I cleaned the carb and before I hooked up any of the cables after replacing the carb I decided to start it. Much to my surprise the engine revs up and down with the gas pedal WITHOUT any of the throttle cables hooked to the carb! What's the deal with that?
