Default 94' Club Car Carry all Key start - charging issue

Picked up a 94 CC Carry all the other day. IT IS A KEY START MODEL. Starts and runs great but does not charge. I notice some of the wiring has been jacked with(suspect). It has the 4 wire regulator and seems to be wired correctly, but I cant find a wiring diagram to save my life. White wire connected to one side of the start relay coil and Blue, Yellow and orange connected to the other side of the coil. Another post talks about a relay connected to the split ground wire that I don't recall seeing installed. Start Relay is good, starts fine. Blue wire has no pwr with key on. Red wire hooked up to the generator post side of the relay. If jump 12v to post with the blue wire with all three wires disconnected the starter turns constantly. So, the white wire on the other side of the relay coil is always grounded??. Is this a normal condition and am I missing something obvious. I hate to shotgun parts but the regulator always seems to come up in conversation on the forum. But don't want to spend money I don't have to (regulator is pricey). I really need a proper wiring diagram to accurately troubleshoot.
Update:
Seems if I turn the key switch to the start position after the motor has started, it will produce a charge. But only to the Start relay. So because the relay is open at this point my battery never gets a charge.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Andy

Is this something the previous owner added? Is it and after market key with three position with off on and start or just on and off?

Some of the Carryalls, from what I understand, were designed to be key start. But, there are definitely a lot more pedal start units. There are a couple posts about these carts and issues, I was hoping someone with one of them could straighten me out on the wiring. I really want to make sure its right before spending money on an unnecessary regulator. I guy that goes by the name, TahoeDawgZ71 seems to know alot about them.
Thanks
Andy

I had similar problem with my key start XRT; there is a one way diode (it looks like the voltage regulator, but is larger) that is bolted to the frame next to the black box that has the solinoid etc in it. You can disconnect and checkit with ohm meter. It is what allows power from the s/g to get back to the battery.

It sounds like something is wired incorrectly or you have a bad voltage regulator. PM me your email address and I'll send you a diagram.

I realize this is a really old post. I have a 2001 Carryall with key start and the exact same problem. The solenoid is not energized when the key switch returns to the run position, so the battery doesn't charge. What was the fix for this? Does the key switch provide the +12 volts to energize the solenoid, or is this voltage supplied by the voltage regulator via the blue wire?
