Re: HEI ignition module conversion
Thanks for the diagram, but that is with the stock coil I am guessing. The GM coil has four prongs for a harness to clip into if used with a distributor, so I was wondering if it mattered where I put the 2 cart wires. Thanks Jeff

Re: HEI ignition module conversion
Look at the sticky on this forum and it will show you the wiring diagram, which HEI module to by, etc. I then used a standard chrome looking conventional coil, mounted it near the igitor module on the frame with a mount sold at O'reilly's. It worked fantastic, deep blue spark, and much cheaper than the OEM. Sorry I've since sold the cart and can't give you name or part #'s.

Re: HEI ignition module conversion
I know where the thread is with the diagram but it does not say which of the 4 connections to connect to, it shows a stock coil that only has 2 connections. I also can't figure where the orange wire hooks up on the module as the black wire hooks up to C but it also looks like the black wire does too,

Re: HEI ignition module conversion
I did the conversion this weekend and it was at least 4-5 times improvement in performance. I used a 4 wire HEI module and an old oil filled cylindrical coil. someone asked if they needed a resistor in line. Do I? It seems to be running fine but I don't want to fry anything?
