PowerDrive 3 Charger hums but amps show below 0
My 2008.5 Club Car Precedent 48v has been in my garage all winter. The batteries were 2014 and I realized last weekend that the cart was totally dead. When connected to the charger, nothing occurred.
I replaced the four 12v batteries today and the cart is now drivable. The issue that I am now having is when I connect the cart to the PowerDrive 3 charger. The charger begins humming, but the needle on the DC Amperes gauge goes from 0 to then below 0. The charger hums until I unplug the cart. The needle then returns to 0. Any ideas on where to begin troubleshooting this? Here is a 14 second video on what it is doing. Thanks, -w |

Re: PowerDrive 3 Charger hums but amps show below 0
As a follow up to this:
I was able to use a friends PowerDrive 2 charger and the cart charges normally on it. So it appears that the issue is with my PowerDrive 3 charger rather than my controller. How can I troubleshoot my charger to figure out what is causing the gauge to show below 0 amps? |
