Default Finally got to put the MSD on my cart

And it ran great, for a minute. NOw I'm getting no spark. I even disconexted the MSD and reconnected the factory ignitor and still nothing.

The starter turns it over but that's it. I did check the manuals in the tech sec and it says to check resitance on the pulsar coil. It states you should see a reading of 433.5 - 586.5 Ω's. I got 20.5 ohms.

Should I be looking to buy a pulsar coil or is that reading good for a 99 cart?

i use the triggers from msd's harley setup, there are other guys on here that use something else! they will read this and give you a better idea. Tonyton has the part numbers i think.

So, you think the MSD could have fried the pulsar and putting a stock one back in could net me the same results?

I can't afford to have that happen. are there any mods needed to run the Harley MSD pick up or might it just bolt in and go?

i deal more with the v twins and this is what i work with, someone will be able to anwser your question better for your engine.
i do agree that by installing the ignitor and still no spark points to the pulsor.
MC-3 Digital Motorcycle Ignition (PN 4223)
•MSD's Universal Motorcycle Ignition
•For 1, 2 or 4 cylinder engines
•Quicker throttle response, less plug fouling
•Built-in Soft Touch Rev Control
•Built-in Two-Step
•Air shifter ignition interrupt

Thanks for the PM. I installed the MSD on my MCI Sunday! It runs fine and hasn't burned anything, yet. It is running leaner with the hotter ignition.
Back to your problem. It spounds like the pulsar cooked. I don't know why, it just sends a signal and shuoldn't get "feedback" from the ignition box.
I'll PM you the contact and you can ask him about that. We need to be sure the box (Msd) isn't cooking the pulsar before you try that again...They are about $50.00.
The MCI has a different pulsar coil than yours. I don't think it would make any difference. Fred has been running these for a while and some others also. It probabaly happened to go at the same time that you installed it. I hope. His # is at my shop. I can provide you an E-mail address now. I also have a pulsar that's used I'll sell you cheap if you need it. I'll be in contact...
