New to Electric Golf Carts, Battery Maintenance Question
How often do you check the battery water levels? I am very new to electric golf carts.

Check the water level at least once a month. More often if you charge frequently. Its also a good thing to check all your battery cables at least once a month.

Re: New to Electric Golf Carts, Battery Maintenance Question
Greetings: I new to this program. I have a question on batteries. One of the battery post justs melts. What causes this problem. Do you have to change all batteries at once or can you change individual batteries?

Re: New to Electric Golf Carts, Battery Maintenance Question
A bad connection or a miswired sytem will cause the meltdown. You don't "have to" change them all at once. Depends on wether you have the cash or not.....now with that said what could happen is the old ones can sometimes harm the new battery. You may be able to fix that terminal by drilling and tapping and placing a stud in there. Don't use a bolt because the lead wont hold up to repeated bolting and unbolting. By using a stud you can anchor it in with locktite so it wont come loose.

Quote:
When you tap it only go a few threads at a time, pull it out and blow the lead shavings out and continue till your at bottom. Only drill down about 3/4 of an inch at most. Be sure and drill in the center of the "pad".....not where the original terminal was but the larger "pad" next to it....it necks down inside the battery to around 1/2 inch or so. |

Thanks! I was wondering just how deep I should drill to tap the new threads.
