Re: Lifted Cart Swaying
That should get you to +2 degrees. It should be a noticeable improvement. You can try temporarily wedging some bolts sideways between the leaf spring and the axle like I did. This should give a preview of how it will drive with +2 degrees of caster. Just going from negative to positive camber should make a big difference.

Re: Lifted Cart Swaying
Have to say thank you this solved the problem and made a huge difference! We ended up finding a place that made us 8 degree shims worked great.
Thanks again! |

Re: Lifted Cart Swaying
Something else you can do to lock that sway down, is to separate your air shocks.
Install a valve in the air line so that the air can't just move side to side. When they're separated, they work more like independent springs and will resist roll. |

Re: Lifted Cart Swaying
My *plans* are to have the valve accessible from the driver position, so I can "unlock" when terrain dictates the need for more flexibility. I'm sure my cart's setup has a lot more to gain, since the air shocks are the sole means of support on the rear.
I've been unable to locally find "official" fittings for that air line; but I have some brass compression fittings that show promise. I'm pitching the brass ferrule that comes with the fitting and substituting "O" rings. |
