Yep, Rocko, it'll wake you up for sure. In your case, not sure but I believe the sheared key could actually be a symptom and not the cause. If you are having backfiring that energy is going some where and most likely slamming that flywheel around. So if it runs fine it runs fine, if not these guys here are experts and gentlemen. i have ezgo rxv 2008 backfires after hard run , i did screw with some cables behind back cover to get more speed ?
