Default oil pressure gage

I have a 04 txt with a 295 . I just got done rebuilding the engine and it runs great. My cart doesn't have an oil light. I was thinking about putting an automotive style gage on the dash. My question is, can I tap into the engine where the factory sender would have been put. The gage I was going to put in uses a tube that runs back to the sender. May sound like a stupid question but I don't want to mess up the new engine. Thanks in advance for all your help.

Default Re: oil pressure gage

zx6rkevin, I may be of some help here. I own a 2006 TXT that didn't come with any type oil pressure or volt meter gauges. I've added my own since and they work very well. Here is a photo of my dash setup with the oil pressure and volt meter gauges. These are Intellitronix LED Digital in 2" dia. The instructions come with these gauges so it is easy to install. You have a oil pressure plug (standard 1/8 npt hole) on the engine for a oil pressure sending unit. The Intellitronix Volt meter and Oil pressure gauges are $44.95 ea. ship free if you buy them from Amazon. com. The oil pressure guage #S843 is $26.95 also free ship from Amazon. These gauages are electric type, so you don't need any oil line to setup. My oil pressure guage shows 52 lbs. with warm engine, and 67 lbs when cold.
