Something for other Marathon Owners to Know

I'm new, i just wanted to throw this out there.

I have been looking for a new starter for my 1986 Marathon 2 Stroke

After ALOT of diggin!

Apparently there is only one starter/gen that will work for it, despite other companies saying others will.

The other starters/gen will motor but will not charge. Others also throw belts due to diff dimensions of pulleys and its shaft.

The OEM and one it requires is a Hitachi gsb107-03 or clone. Unique and more expensive usually.

The ones most sellers offer are a gsb107-04 or 01

Ive checked with 4 different reliable people and this has been confirmed. So if you want to try a different starter/gen please feel free and let me know if it works. But ive been told they dont line up/adjust right/ throw belts and wont charge.
