headlights flickering
Took my g16 out for the first time this weekend. Noticed the headlight flicker a lot. Their connected to the battery. Is this normal?

mine will dim when I let off the gas & the motor is coasting but they brighten up when the motor starts again

I have a digital volt meter on mine the battery shows 12.60 volts when the motor is off when it is running & the generator is charging the battery it shows 15.84v im sure that's why they are dimmer when coasting down hill. mine don't flicker at all when the motor is running just when it turns on & off

Try checking all your grounds. If all are clean and tight, you may have a faulty voltage regulator. It wouldn't hurt to check the connections on it and the generator also.

Check your head light switch. I had several new ones with same problem from mad jax.

Its a cheap charging circuit. Its Not designed for extra loads or lights. The flicker is the regulator pulse associated with an on-off charging. You can see this using an analog meter scale.

mine don't flicker at all while the motor is running I felt 15.8 v output was good for a little gen.

I do have a stereo to. Cant remember if it was on while I had the lights on though.
