Hello Pizzamaker,

My engine is a "simple" aircooled one, with no coolingribs on the cilinderblock.
There is a massive alluminiumblock, that' s shrunk over the cilinderblock.
This massiveblock has on each side / on the edges some drilled out holes from one edge to another.
They are plugged up with some bolds.
The water gets in this block at the front, turns arount it and gets out at the back, like seen on my avatar.
I have a kartwaterpump mounted on the engineblock and powered from a litle wheel on the balanceaxle.
Its a basic kartwaterpump, which normally is driven with a belt on the rearaxle.
In my construction the engine is cooled to when standing stil at the grid.
I also has a thermostat and a temperaturefeeler in the system.
This way you don't need the fan (airpump!!!) on the engine.
The fan eats power on our high revs......
So only the cilinderblock is watercooled, not the head.
In our racecart it gives no trouble at all, but in your cart's it will!

Your engines are in a enginebay, so no fresh air streaming around.
So where to place the radiator including a fan on it?
We drive without a fan.
In the summer, after some rounds on the racetrack and stopping / shutting off, the temp is rapidley raising on our engine!
From about 50 to over 100 celsius (Fahrenheit??)(100 normally is the boilingpoint)
You also make more miles as we do.
With your revs and speed, it makes no sense to build it over to watercooling.
In our racekarts its the combination of weight fast reving up and power that counts.

The alternative is a big oilcooler on it and no watercooling or fan.
Then you also have to make another oilcirculation (like in ours) to get the oil faster around and cooled, for all things with higher revs, faster back down in the engine!
A famous carenginetuner (Schrick) did this, but was far to expensive.
I have some pictures of this Schrickengine.

Your basicengine will pump all the oil in the head, where it cannot get fast enough down under.

This weekend, i can make some pictures and send them to you, when you give me your E-mail.

They also build over Honda GX 390 to watercooling than they give about 30 HP at 6700 revs. (including many other messurements.....)

I thought we just posted that last week? Also don't think the 295/350 motor is an interference motor as stated in the beginning of this thread. Will look for the timing belt lineup pic

they are not interference eng. i have replace multiple belts due to breaking. time eng, put belt on and fire it up. if the belts breaks they hurt nothing.

Actually the manual calls for .004 on all robins engines but, a wee bit extra is okay. They may clatter at .006 and excessive clatter is not good....
