3 12v or 6 6v? Melex 112
My boss has me using an OLD Melex cart to haul manure in. It only holds a charge for about 4 hours.
He insists that 3 12v batteries, since they add up to 36v, are fine to run in this cart. I keep telling him, that he HAS to run 6 6v but he refuses to listen - I'm a chick and know nothing. The poor handyman has no knowldge of carts and has screwed this thing up even worse after putting in a new solenoid. Can anybody help me show my boss what is the right configuration for the batteries? Or, convince him to open his rather fat wallet and buy a newer cart? Thanks! |

Re: 3 12v or 6 6v? Melex 112
36v is 36v. The cart WILL run on 3-12v batteries. The range will suck, and the batteries will wear out very fast, some folks report failures within 1 year. Your boss's money would be more wisely spent on 6-6v Golf Cart batteries. It will be much cheaper in the long run.
ps: Manure stinks! But, I guess you know that! Welcome to BGW! |
