G2 whines when trying to start... help?

hey there. Hope this is the right place to post my question?
My G2 has this whine when I try to start it. It also has no mercy on my batteries when i put in a new one. Just drains it right out.
when the battery is new and good the whine will be faster and i can choke it and it will run. But each time i stop the engine and start again i get the whine.

Sounds like the starter is slipping on the belt it may just need tightened up

edit: oh and is there any obvious reasons out there as to why my battery keeps being drained out when not in use?

Put it in neutral and run the motor wide open with a voltmeter on the battery should be around 13.5 to 14 volts if it's not I'd start with an adjustment of the voltage regulator (if it's original) if it's not original it probably won't be adjustable if you do a search there is a thread on here of how to adjust them
