Re: Winch install on yamaha drive G29
Mounted my 2500 lb Viper winch today on the Yamaha Drive. Tucked it in tight under front cowl. Had to cut bracket off for center cowl support to make room for winch under the cowl. Also added a Rhox black brush guard to cover up the winch some and provide a nice look.I cut a slot in the Rhox brush guard to allow the winch cable through and mounted the fairlead to the brush guard. The fairlead is still mounted to the winch also. Brush guard is sandwiched in between.

Re: Winch install on yamaha drive G29
Thanks, it took a bunch of test fits to get it all to fit together correctly.

Sportcoupe, looking at doing this to mine as well, where did you get the brush guard and how did you mount the winch to it? Any help would be appreciated . Thanks, Bryan

Re: Winch install on yamaha drive G29
2500lbs, can the Yamaha handle that? What have people been able to do with a winch?

Re: Winch install on yamaha drive G29
I pulled a chevy 2500 with a 1986 G1, no winch needed (stock tire size). My G2 with big tires wont be towing any rig, cant do. Good clutches can't overcome only 285 worn out cc's at my disposal. Keep your expectations real. It isnt a tow-truck, not a "monster truck", not a truck at all. So when you get work done with it , keep that in mind.
