Default 2009 g29 braking issue

I just got this cart that has a lift kit and 12" tires. it is fine on flat ground but when you go to stop going downhill (doesn't have to be much) there is a grinding noise. It did it while I was camping for the first time with the cart so I added regular 80w diff/trans axle oil.

it seemed to get a little better after that. so when I got home I drained it all out (which there was a lot of black slime on the drain plug) and filled it with the friction yama lube to see if that was the problem but it is still there. can anyone help me?

Hopefully this makes since to someone I'm very bad at explaining things.

perform a basic brake inspection and maintenance. most likely uneven pad wear... flat and level your on the pads, when you need a lot of brakes, you end up metal to metal.

No dice on a 2009 yamaha, buddy. Those brakes are disc brakes inside the axle.

Are you sure you used the correct fluid?

I used the Yamaha SAE 80w-90 friction-modified plus shaft drive oil. Is this the correct one for a 09 g29 cart?

I will try to drive it around and drain it again to see what it looks like. How many quarts should it take?

44 oz (1.3 qt) , I think. Fill it to the bottom of the fill hole. 2 extra oz of friction modifier wouldnt hurt either.
