Re: 1st cart!! 1989 ezgo gas
if i could find the post i would submit it, but the best thing to use is a cutting tourch cleaning kit, it is a small box of very thin wires that have a slightly roughened surface on the different size wires that are just perfect for cleaning out jets in carbs, there probably 4 bucks but you will use them time and time again, well worth the money.

Re: 1st cart!! 1989 ezgo gas
Well, I'm back with probably my last update for awhile, because I'm tired of working on it and want to take it to my golf course.
After having the engine out and trying to change the seals (which I couldn't..a long and dreadful story), I got pissed and put it all back together. Mind you, I did put in a new reed valve assembly and had the carb went through completely. After all that said, the motor still runs good but with choke about half pulled instead of full like before. So, cleaned it up a bit and took some more photos...think I will just try to run it for awhile and who knows, it may get better. I want to thank all that helped in this endeavor and who knows.. if I can save up some funds maybe I can do a complete rebuild on her. Again thanks to all!!!! |

Re: 1st cart!! 1989 ezgo gas
With the cart on jack stands and the engine running spray carb cleaner at the throttle shaft of the carb, I did that to my 1982 and the engine ran like a top. I have since ordered new carbs for both my 82 and 89. The engine rpm changed a little bit when I sprayed it by the crank seal (very little bit) but when I sprayed it by the throttle shaft it really smoothed out.
