Default Opinions and advice please

Hi folks, I just wondered what your thoughts and advice might be on my recent purchase; It is a 1983 EZ-GO 2 stroke in pretty nice condition. It came with the weather canopy option and new tyres, runs great but needs a new drive belt and battery (belt was shredded and car battery was too big) I gave $400 for it and figure that around another $60 or so should take care of the rest. I would be interested as to any checks and maintenance that I should carry out before I put the beast to work and also if the price was fair enough.
Thanks in advance for your words of wisdom,

Chris.

Hey me personally would replace the spark plug and go over some of the nuts on important parts. More then likely they have NEVER been touched......No need for a wheel to fall of when your wheeling that thing like you stole it....

Well, from my view it was a nice deal. I just paid seven for a 1990 in fair condition.
You did alright I think.

Chris, i would say thats a pretty good deal, i picked up my 84 this spring for 500$ and i had to replace the belt and spark plug and also had a wheel bearing in the front go out.
